FAQ

Straight answers

When are queens available?

February through November, caught on a four-week cycle around the 20th of each month. Order any time — your queens come from the next catch. Winter queens from the bank are sometimes available at a seasonal premium; message us.

How does the live-arrival guarantee work?

Every shipment is guaranteed to arrive with a live, premium mated queen. If a queen arrives dead, send a photo of the cage the day your package lands and we replace her or refund her — your choice. Every queen travels in her own cage with fresh attendants and candy, ready to introduce straight from the box.

Do you mark or clip queens?

No. We handle proven queens as little as possible — every extra handling step is risk with no upside for you. You receive her unmarked, unclipped, and laying.

Pickup or shipping?

Pickup in Dade City, Florida is free and our preference — queens travel best in your truck. Pickup is by appointment: when your queens are caught we text you the yard address and a time window. (We don't publish yard addresses — hive theft is a real thing.) We also ship nationwide and have delivered thousands of queens with the reviews to back it. Overnight shipping is quoted by destination after you order and billed before anything travels.

What genetics do you run?

Italian, Italian Cordovan, Carniolan, and Italian × Carniolan crosses — all selected for commercial production, gentleness, low swarming, fast buildup, and the ruggedness to pollinate coast to coast.

What's the best way to introduce your queens?

Requeen into a queenless colony or nuc that's been broodless a few hours minimum, leave the candy cap to do its work, and resist opening the hive for a week. We do everything on our end — queens laying before caging, fresh attendants, careful banking — so the odds are stacked in your favor before the box ever ships.

Can I order queens and coffee together?

Yes — place the two orders online (they check out separately) and drop a note on your queen order that coffee's riding along. Pickup: we hand everything over together. Shipping: coffee rides in the queen box whenever the carrier allows, otherwise it ships ground at cost.

If I order today, which catch do I get?

Order before the 20th and you're in that month's catch. Order after the 20th and you're in the next month's. The order form shows exactly which months are open — pick the one that fits your schedule.

Can I order 50 or 100+ queens?

Yes — that's our favorite kind of order. 50+ runs $30 a queen. For standing monthly orders or full requeening programs, message us and we'll plan the season together.

When do prices change?

We review pricing every January and hold it for the calendar year. What you see on the pricing page is what you pay.

Do you sell queen cells or breeder stock?

Both, plus instrumentally inseminated (II) queens by our specialist Celena Bennett — including Cordovan VSH lines. These are limited and priced per order; message us on Facebook or email.
